Yooper
Beach House

Your lakefront escape on the shores of Green Bay, Lake Michigan. Where the U.P. meets the water.

Welcome Home

A True Yooper Experience

Nestled on the shores of Green Bay in Menominee, Michigan, Yooper Beach House is your gateway to the Upper Peninsula's best-kept secret — a stretch of Lake Michigan coastline where the water is warm, the sunsets are endless, and the pace of life slows to match the rhythm of the waves.

Menominee sits at the southern edge of the U.P., right across the Menominee River from Marinette, Wisconsin. Together, these twin cities form the heart of the M&M area — a community rich in history, great food, and genuine Midwestern hospitality. Whether you're fishing for walleye, kayaking the bay, or just sitting on the beach watching freighters pass, you'll feel what it means to live like a Yooper.

Our beach house is more than a place to stay — it's a basecamp for experiencing everything the Upper Peninsula has to offer, from the nearby shores of Lake Superior to the quiet forests and waterfalls that make this corner of Michigan unlike anywhere else on earth.

The M&M Challenge

Every guest at Yooper Beach House gets the same assignment: cross the river, hit both joints, and tell us who wins. Mickey Lu's in Marinette has been charcoal-grilling burgers since 1942. Jozwiak's in Menominee has answered back with the Wabash since 1948. The only way to settle this is to eat both.

A neighborhood pub with generous portions, daily specials, and the best facebook page in town (the Bears still suck). Fish fry, broasted chicken, pizza, burgers, and tenderloin — plus Tuesday Margaritas & Mexican night and Sunday broasted chicken specials. Dog-friendly patio with covered seating. Tucked into a residential neighborhood where you'd never expect to find great food. That's part of the charm. My brother and I have been eating and break dancing at the Schooner since jukeboxes were the standard and grill wasn't appended to Bar & Grill.

Whitetail Deer
Menominee County · Top 3 statewide

Menominee County consistently ranks among the top three counties in Michigan for deer harvest — 3,155 deer taken during the 2025 firearm season alone. The mix of dense forest, agricultural land, and grasslands creates ideal habitat. Michigan firearm opener is November 15; archery starts October 1. Wisconsin's famous 9-day gun season starts the following week, so you can hunt both states from this location.

Yooper Tip: November 15 is effectively a holiday in the U.P. Schools and businesses close. Deer camp is a multi-generational tradition up here — local businesses run non-hunter specials.

Green Bay · World-class diver hunting

Green Bay is one of the premier waterfowl destinations in the upper Midwest. Layout boat hunting for diver ducks — bluebills, canvasbacks, redheads, goldeneyes — is the signature technique, with hunters setting up over reefs a half-mile offshore. Tens of thousands of ducks stage on the bay each fall. Puddle ducks and Canada geese are abundant on inland waters and agricultural fields.

The nearby Ralph GEMS in Dickinson County offers 73,000 acres of intensively managed grouse habitat.
