Adjacent to the West Shore Fishing Museum, the historic home of pioneer fisherman Charles Bailey who ran one of the area's largest commercial fishing operations from 1893 to 1950.

Two launch ramps at the mouth of the Menominee River with access to both the river and Green Bay. Features an ADA-compliant kayak and canoe launch system, floating docks, pavilions, and restrooms. One of the best-designed launch facilities in the area. $5 daily or $25 annual.

The widest concrete ramp on the Menominee River with two launch sites and a fish cleaning station. Popular with serious anglers targeting walleye, pike, and bass. Ample trailer parking. $5 daily or $25 annual. Occasionally closed during Navy ship launches at adjacent Marinette Marine.

A world-class smallmouth bass fishery where 100-fish days are common in summer. Anglers from Texas and Florida fly in to fish with local guides. Also outstanding for walleye (spring run from Green Bay), steelhead (late Feb through mid-April), northern pike, musky, and lake sturgeon. Either a Michigan or Wisconsin license is valid on the river.

One of the premier fisheries in the entire Great Lakes system. Trophy walleye (28-33" fish are common in the spring run), world-class smallmouth bass, yellow perch, northern pike, brown trout, chinook salmon at the river mouths in fall, and musky — October is considered the best time to catch a 50-pound musky trolling the bay. I ain't talking about Brown Trout, if you know you know ;)!

Caldron Falls Reservoir (1,063 acres) is the premier musky lake in northeast Wisconsin — Class-A musky water with excellent bass, walleye, and panfish. High Falls Flowage (1,498 acres) offers great smallmouth and walleye in a wild, undeveloped setting surrounded by 10,000 acres of forest. Public launches on both.

You're on the border — either a Michigan or Wisconsin license works on the Menominee River. Green Bay requires the license of whichever state's water you're in. MI non-resident annual: $76. WI non-resident annual: $55 (4-day: $24). Several established guides operate locally including Alexander's Sport Fishing, Walleye Patrol, and Anglers Plus.

A proper outfitter since 1999, stocking fishing tackle, rods, reels, electronics, ice fishing gear, hunting supplies, kayaks, camping and hiking equipment, and a deep selection of outdoor apparel. They run a bait shop with 24/7 live bait machines outside, so you can grab crawlers or minnows at 4am before a morning bite. Custom engraving services available. Home of the Moonshine RV A&K Do-De-K and RV Deadly Do De Spoon. A dedicated bait and tackle shop on Shore Drive that knows the local waters inside and out. They expand their hours during the spring walleye run based on river conditions — that tells you everything about where their priorities are. Mon–Fri 7am–6pm, Sat 7am–4pm, Sun 7am–2pm.

The closest big-box option for fishing tackle, licenses, and general outdoor supplies. Surprisingly solid selection of lures, line, and terminal tackle for both Green Bay and river fishing. Open early if you need last-minute gear before a charter or a day on the water.

Walk the boardwalk and pier out to the historic Menominee North Pier Lighthouse. Bring a camera — the photo ops here are unbeatable, especially at golden hour. The lighthouse is open for tours Memorial Day through Labor Day.

A 43-acre sand spit and marsh containing the only true dune complex on Green Bay. A 2.6-mile out-and-back trail through rare coastal habitat. Critical migratory shorebird staging area — the landscape changes dramatically with lake level fluctuations, making each visit different.

A beautiful scenic stop right on Green Bay with walking paths, picnic areas, and a swing on the beach. Worth the drive up the coast — the M-35 Hidden Coast lakeshore route is stunning in its own right.

A 7,652-acre co-managed recreation area along 17 miles of undeveloped Menominee River on the Pemene Falls Trail. Rocky gorges, towering pines, whitewater sections, and calm stretches. Kayaking, tubing, fishing, and wildlife viewing. The largest protected natural area near the twin cities.

Menominee County consistently ranks among the top three counties in Michigan for deer harvest — 3,155 deer taken during the 2025 firearm season alone. The mix of dense forest, agricultural land, and grasslands creates ideal habitat. Michigan firearm opener is November 15; archery starts October 1. Wisconsin's famous 9-day gun season starts the following week, so you can hunt both states from this location.

Green Bay is one of the premier waterfowl destinations in the upper Midwest. Layout boat hunting for diver ducks — bluebills, canvasbacks, redheads, goldeneyes — is the signature technique, with hunters setting up over reefs a half-mile offshore. Tens of thousands of ducks stage on the bay each fall. Puddle ducks and Canada geese are abundant on inland waters and agricultural fields.

The Upper Peninsula is the heartland of Michigan ruffed grouse hunting. Woodcock peak migration moves through in late September through October. Pheasant season is open in Menominee County (Oct 10-31). Spring turkey populations are strong in the southern U.P.'s agricultural counties. The nearby Ralph GEMS in Dickinson County offers 73,000 acres of intensively managed grouse habitat.

Few areas in the Midwest can match this level of public hunting access. The Escanaba State Forest (496,000 acres of prime deer, bear, and grouse habitat), the 7,652-acre Menominee River State Recreation Area, over 230,000 acres of Marinette County Forest across the border, the Peshtigo River State Forest, and the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest (661,400 acres) — all within an hour's drive. Separate licenses required for each state.

Menominee's public library sits right by the Menominee Marina — a great spot to print boarding passes or grab a book for the beach. Clean, quiet, and welcoming to visitors.

Marinette's public library on the Wisconsin side. Another solid option for printing and a comfortable place to work or read. Shares parking with the Stephenson Island Museum — worth a stop while you're there. Both libraries welcome out-of-town visitors.
